Start Your Year Off Right

Every year gives a feeling of new beginnings and new adventures. An excellent way to kick start 2018 is with this stellar list of movies that Josh and I compiled together for your viewing pleasure.

1. Army of Darkness (1992)

Directed by Sam Raimi Universal Studios

10000% the superior Evil Dead movie. They took a wild fucking turn and it definitely paid off.

2. Everybody Wants Some!! (2016)

Directed by Richard Linklater Paramount Pictures

For the longest time Dazed and Confused was my favourite fucking movie but this Linklater movie topped it. The characters are relatable as hell, the chemistry is there and damn it’s just a fun film.

3. It (2017)

Directed by Andy Muschietti Warner Bros. Pictures

THE FUCKING KIDS IN THIS MOVIE ARE SO TALENTED I WANT TO DIE! Everything about this movie makes me flabbergasted. It was so well written, hardly any jump scares, and just so tasteful in the realm of horror movies.

4. Sleepaway Camp (1983)

Directed by Robert Hiltzik American Eagle Films

Okay, I showed this movie to multiple people and they all shat on it but honestly it’s so good!! The plot twist at the end is fucking spectacular. No trust if you hate it.

5. Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Directed by Irvin Kershner Lucasfilms LTD

Arguably the best Star Wars movie ever made. With all the hype around the sci-fi franchise, if you missed this one damn.

6. EDtv (1999)

Directed by Ron Howard Imagine Entertainment

We went through this wild Matthew McConaughey phase in the fall of this past year. This is a hidden gem of the romcom world! Woody Harrelson is even in it!!! It’s too good.

7. Bio-Dome (1996)

Directed by Jason Bloom Motion Picture Corporation of America

Instead of starting every year with this movie, we end with Bio-Dome. Its ridiculous, probably god awful but damn we watch it every New Years Eve and it holds up every time. It’s the quintessential 90s stoner comedy, nothing makes sense and it’s flat out hilarious.
